About Change Please Change Please is a social enterprise on a mission to end homelessness through coffee. Since launching from a small cart in Covent Garden in 2015, we've grown into an international, multi-award-winning organisation operating across four countries. Our profits fund life-changing support for people experiencing homelessness, including barista training, living-wage employment, therapy, housing guidance, and long-term career pathways. We believe in business as a force for good, one that unlocks potential, restores dignity, and creates opportunity. As we continue to scale nationally and internationally across wholesale, retail, and fundraising operations, this is a pivotal moment to join Change Please and support the growth of our Impact programmes across Scotland.

The role We are recruiting for a Freelance Coffee Trainer - Regional Impact (Scotland), offering an opportunity to develop and apply mentoring, coaching, and training skills within a purpose-driven environment. In this role, you will deliver structured coffee training and assessments to our trainees across Scotland. You will play a key role not only in developing technical barista skills but also in building confidence, supporting personal development, and preparing individuals for sustainable employment. Some trainees will progress into our wider programme, where you will continue to support and mentor them within retail environments.

Job requirements A positive, proactive and "can-do" attitude is essential. Experience delivering coffee training within the specialty coffee sector is required, along with strong practical coffee skills, including the ability to produce core latte art patterns (heart, tulip, rosetta). Good understanding of espresso extraction and grinder calibration is necessary. Experience working with vulnerable individuals or within the homelessness sector is highly desirable. SCA Barista Skills certification is advantageous but not essential. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to track and document trainee progress, and an excellent customer service mindset are also required. A high level of empathy, patience, and compassion, and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, many of whom may have experienced trauma, are crucial.

Benefits Salary: £220 per day (inclusive of travel). Expenses for accommodation and meals are covered where overnight travel is required. This role offers the flexibility to support family or personal commitments while ensuring programme delivery needs are met.

Additional Information Change Please is an equal opportunities employer. We actively encourage applications from individuals from diverse and under-represented communities. Safeguarding is a priority, and the successful candidate will be expected to uphold safe working practices at all times. This role may be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including references, right to work verification, and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where applicable.
