Positive Money Europe is actively seeking a new treasurer to join our board. This role is crucial as we approach the end of our current treasurer's term at the end of 2026.

The organisation: Positive Money Europe is dedicated to advocating for economic reforms within the EU. We are committed to transparency, ethical governance, and representing our mission externally. Our board members, including the treasurer, play a significant role in guiding our strategic direction and ensuring the financial health of the organization.

The role: As treasurer, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Finance, Operations, and HR. Your responsibilities will include supporting the preparation of annual accounts and budgets, advising on financial planning and reserves, overseeing financial controls, contributing to smooth audit processes, and helping the board understand the financial implications of its decisions. You will ensure compliance with Belgian ASBL financial regulations.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate should be aligned with our values, passionate about our mission, and enthusiastic about contributing to meaningful economic reforms. Experience with Belgian accounting, financial management of non-profit organizations, legal requirements applying to Belgian ASBL, or auditing processes is required.

Benefits: While the position is unremunerated, all reasonable expenses related to the discharge of duties will be reimbursed. Board members are appointed for two-year terms, renewable up to three times, with an average commitment of 3 hours per month. Board meetings occur four times a year and can be attended online or in-person in Brussels.
