The British Museum is at an exciting phase of its technical development with many older legacy systems currently being updated with new technologies. It is also embarking on its new Masterplan to restore and renovate the Bloomsbury site. This brings many opportunities for development, but also many changes and challenges.
The Role: We are looking for a Lead Project Manager to help develop the PM function and support the Museum’s digital and technology transformation. You will play an essential role by managing a team of Project Managers, while delivering a range of IT projects. You will get the opportunity to work with stakeholders across the entire Museum, from Archives to Website design, and Facilities Management to Collection Care.
Job requirements: We are seeking a passionate and driven project manager who will thrive in a complex and dynamic working environment. You will be highly organised with the ability to manage several ongoing projects in tandem. You will be able to work with numerous stakeholders to plan and manage resources. You will have demonstrated ability to manage and support junior staff through projects to meet timelines and deliverables. You will have a deep understanding of project management practices, and a drive to improve the function while aligning with Museum governance.
