What will you be doing?
BPUR International is a global campaign to enact an ‘International Treaty to Ban the Political Abuse of Religion’, which would be a crucial foundation to disarm extremism and eliminate the root causes of religious conflicts and discrimination worldwide. The objective is to reinforce human rights, equality, democratic values, and the rule of law by introducing a global norm justifying new and more effective national laws and policies to help engender functioning societies, enhance stability, and pave the way for sustainable development across countless countries. This initiative follows an inclusive approach, grounded in the utmost respect for all religions and personal beliefs, to introduce clear, precise, comprehensive and irrefutable international rules to prevent: ➔ all political abuses of religion that undermine human equality, ➔ all religious discrimination in rights and duties, ➔ all religious exclusions, ➔ and all restrictions to freedom of religion or belief. This peace-making mission has a significant motion for resolution in the Council of Europe, and has gathered inclusive official and legislative support in more than 80 countries, notably in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, where it is mostly needed because of the unique considerate approach to end the cycle of religious conflicts. As a volunteer project manager for BPUR International, you will be:
Developing and executing campaigns to convince officials, legislators, philanthropists, religious leaders and influential people to support our global mission. Engaging with our vast network of supporters from around the globe and cultivating their contribution to our global campaign. Identifying and engaging with potential partners, similar organisations, foundations and campaigns with aligning objectives. Planning and executing events and campaigns. Approaching influential politicians, legislators and public figures who can bring awareness to our cause.
What are we looking for?
A passionate believer in our cause to eliminate the root causes of religious conflicts and protect all victims of religious oppression. Someone who has an interest in networking with global high-profile public figures, philanthropists, politicians, celebrities and activists. Experience in campaigning, planning and building projects to advance our global mission. Good interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively.
What difference will you make?
As a volunteer project manager you will help BPUR International to set global rules to protect all victims of religious oppression and discrimination. Our supporters, including many religious minority leaders and women’s groups, believe that this proposed treaty would be an indispensable tool at the local and international levels to empower civil societies in their campaigns to enforce human rights values. We believe this proposed treaty will touch the lives of billions in every corner of the world, serving all international humanitarian objectives by eliminating the root causes of many conflicts and a long list of abuses of human rights. Subsequently, it would enhance stability and open the doors for sustainable development for countries worldwide.
