As a Senior Software Engineer at the Trust, you will become an integral part of the Digital & Technology directorate. Your tasks will be centred on the Wellcome Collection, where you will work within a product engineering team responsible for designing and maintaining our data and digital platforms. Role expectations include:
- Strong proficiency in at least one server-side language (Python, Scala)
- Solid understanding of client-side technologies (React, Next.js, TypeScript)
- Experience with AWS, ECS, Lambda, RDS, Step Functions, Terraform
- Good understanding of database and data pipeline architecture
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, distributed version control

The Role: As a Senior Software Engineer at Wellcome, you will be part of our Digital & Technology directorate. You will focus on the Wellcome Collection, working within a product engineering team that is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data and digital platforms. This role involves close collaboration with developers, designers, and product colleagues to address some of the complex data and digital challenges Wellcome faces.
Job Requirements: We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in at least one server-side language (Python, Scala) and a solid understanding of client-side technologies (React, Next.js, TypeScript). Experience with AWS, ECS, Lambda, RDS, Step Functions, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) is essential. You should also have a good understanding of database and data pipeline architecture and be experienced in modern development practices including Git, CI/CD, and distributed version control.
