  • Role Summary:
    • Lead the expansion of South Pole's certificate business including Carbon Credits and Energy Attribution Certificates.
    • Engage with strategic clients to drive sustainability solutions, acting as a key commercial liaison.
    • Generate and nurture new business leads, and manage client relationships.
    • Contribute to regional sales strategies and execute them to achieve targets.
    • Deliver powerful sales presentations and lead contract negotiations.
    • Stay informed on market trends and leverage this knowledge to support clients.
  • Role Requirements:
    • A university degree in Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
    • At least 5 years of business development and sales experience, preferably in sustainability.
    • Strong track record in meeting and surpassing sales goals.
    • Deep understanding of corporate climate initiatives and ability to articulate business cases.
    • Self-driven with a results-oriented approach and excellent decision-making skills.
    • Fluency in English, with other language skills as a bonus.
    • Proficient communication and presentation abilities.
    • Experience in Salesforce and G-Suite preferred.

Job summary:

South Pole is a leading carbon project expert and climate consultancy. We advise project partners and developers in designing, registering and monitoring their carbon credit programs, and support large businesses to understand the impacts of climate change on their business and develop decarbonisation strategies to lead to a low carbon future.
As a Business Development & Key Account Manager - Certificates, your main responsibility is to work with and to grow a portfolio of strategic clients as well as to proactively and independently expand South Poles certificates (Carbon Credits and Energy Attribution Certificates) business.
You will support the biggest companies to solve the climate crisis, advising on best fit solutions, acting as the main interface between our certificate solutions and our clients, informing the commercial strategy for your region.
Working closely with the carbon project development teams, you will receive intensive training to perform as a Commercial Carbon Market Expert that is well equipped to sell a wide range of certificates solutions from spot purchases through to investable projects and funds. 

Main tasks & responsibilities:
Generate new certificate leads by leveraging your network and through business
development activities such as in-person meetings, conferences, events and summits,
representing South Pole in the region

Nurture leads and existing client to build strong relationships

Contribute to and execute on the region sales strategy

Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations

Lead negotiations and see contracts through to completion and delivery

Identify opportunities for cross selling across South Pole’s broader services and offerings

Grow a strong pipeline for the region, ensuring its accurate in the CRM

Meet or exceed sales targets

Stay on top of climate and carbon market trends, developing in-depth knowledge of
competitors, clients and market dynamics.


Essential -

‚óŹ University degree in Sustainability and/or Business related discipline
‚óŹ Passionate and enthusiastic lead generator and networker
‚óŹ At least 5 years of proven business development and sales experience with a high
preference in the sustainability field (renewable energy or carbon markets), corporate
responsibility, sustainable development and/or climate change)
‚óŹ Track record in meeting and exceeding sales targets
‚óŹ Understanding of the business drivers behind corporate climate actions and initiatives (eg¬†SBT, RE100, carbon neutrality) and the ability to formulate a business case
‚óŹ Strong drive for results, action-oriented, with self-direction and sense of urgency
‚óŹ Critical thinking and decision-making skills with strong business and commercial acumen
‚óŹ Excellent English skills, any other languages is a plus
‚óŹ Excellent communication and presentation skills
‚óŹ Comfortable operating in a fast-paced international environment
‚óŹ Entrepreneurial mindset, sense of responsibility and willingness to take initiative.

Desirable - 

‚óŹ Advanced skills in G-Suite applications
‚óŹ Experience using Salesforce.¬†
