Lyst is seeking a Director of Analytics to lead our lean, multi-disciplined, best-in-class analytics team. As director, you will set the mission, technical direction, and culture of the analytics function. You will provide technical direction on experimentation, attribution, forecasting, and observability, and manage analytical frameworks. You will also evangelise and inspire best practices across the company.

You will report to the VP of Data & Engineering and work closely with the Director of Data Platform and XFN Directors. Our stack includes AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Python and R.

Areas of Responsibility:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing, diverse analytics team
  • Foster a culture of craftsmanship, innovation, best practices and continuous improvement
  • Align team objectives with company goals and strategic initiatives

Technical Direction and Innovation:

  • Provide expert guidance on horizontal technical analytical areas, including experimentation, attribution, forecasting, and observability
  • Continuously identify opportunities for applying advanced analytics and data methodologies
  • Develop and track metrics to measure success

Analytics and Strategy:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to support decision-making around key initiatives and strategic objectives
  • Work with FP&A and product leads to align product development to commercial outcomes - working to a common growth-model/metric tree
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, the competitive landscape, and market dynamics to inform commercial strategies

Data Strategy and Governance:

  • Partner with the Director of Data Platform to define and execute the vision for how data can be leveraged effectively across the business
  • Work alongside the Data Platform team to ensure high data quality and robust data governance
  • Develop and maintain analytics roadmaps to support the progress of the data strategy

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Empower the team to execute on reporting, analytics, and experimentation
  • Collaborate with product development to identify and apply new data opportunities
  • Drive understanding of key metrics and their importance across the business

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior or head of analytics role, preferably within e-commerce or technology sectors
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing large, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Expertise in doing analytical work, including data modelling, experimentation, attribution, forecasting, and observability
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience driving change through analytics and data initiatives
  • Strong in both high-level strategic thinking and detailed analysis
