- Conduct due diligence research on unregistered material.

The British Museum is seeking a dedicated individual with excellent documentation skills to join the Collection Projects and Resources team. The main purpose of this role is to complete due diligence research on unregistered material, and documentation of registered and unregistered collection-related material, as part of the Blythe House Decant Project. This is a varied role in a fast-paced project environment which offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of objects. Problem-solving is a key aspect of the role, and a flexible approach to working is essential. The role will be based at the Museum’s outstation located on Orsman Road in Hackney, London.
Key areas of responsibility include improving the documentation of registered and unregistered collection-related material, reviewing the inventory of unregistered material against existing records, and working as a member of a project team.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in anthropology, cultural heritage, archaeology, or other relevant subject. They should have knowledge of research techniques and the use of archive sources, and some experience of working with a collection or archive. They should be highly self-motivated with organisation and time management skills, and have excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
