Arts Council England requires a collaborative and inclusive Relationship Manager, with a knowledge of Theatre to join our supportive midlands team at an exciting time for the region.

The Midlands has in the last 12 months hosted both Coventry UK City of Culture and the Commonwealth Games cultural programme. The role will seek to work with the cultural sector to build on the ambition and momentum that both have generated.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of our strategy Let’s Create as part of our commitment to a country transformed by culture. We are looking for candidates with knowledge and expertise to work in the Midlands. The relationship manager should ensure that they can effectively and credibly advise and support artists and organisations and should be passionate about broadening engagement in the arts and culture.

If you were currently doing this job, here are some of the areas you would have been working on this week: Giving funding advice, assessing grant applications, understanding project information, and monitoring performance. Assessing financial information, identifying risk, and providing feedback on artistic plans. Working outside your specialism on a range of Arts Council initiatives. Being a crucial part of the Midlands and national Dance teams.

Arts Council are committed to building an inclusive employer and workplace and recruiting a workforce that is as diverse as the communities we serve. However, you identify, and whatever background you bring with you, we welcome you to apply for a role at Arts Council. If there are any adjustments that would help support you in your application, please do let us know when you apply.

Arts Council offers a range of benefits to our employees including hybrid and flexible working, a generous annual leave allowance and the Arts Council Retirement Plan - a final salary scheme.

Please note that, we are currently consulting on our Staff Code of Ethics and changes which will avoid conflicts of interest. The changes would mean that employees of the Arts Council would not be able to receive an Arts Council grant, investment or loan funding - either in person, as a member of a partnership, or for any organisation they own. There are also limitations on board or CEO positions employees can hold in organisations we fund.
