What will you be doing?
The Reading Corner is a non-profit and volunteer-powered organisation. Our volunteers invest whatever time and efforts they can and want into the project, aiming to make the publishing industry a better place. There are three main areas within TRC: -Interview-based promotion.-TRC Book Club.-Social Media As a volunteer, you will be interviewing authors or editors and publishing a bylined Q&A-style interview. It is your choice to publish as few or as many interviews as you’d like, and you are welcome to take a step back from volunteering at any time for any reason, no questions asked. TRC wants to support you in return, so our Volunteer Coordinators are happy to serve as professional references or recommendations for your work. If there are other ways in which we can support you, please let us know.
What are we looking for?
Our volunteers are open-minded, accepting of themselves and others, and thrive in making an impact in the publishing industry. They love reading and don't mind exploring new genres, and love having meaningful conversations with the authors they interview and their peers within the team. If you want to become a volunteer for The Reading Corner, these are some qualities and skills we are looking for: - Experience in copywriting or creative writing.- Journalism or experience conducting and drafting interviews. - A genuine interest in the publishing industry.- Attention to detail. - Appreciated but not essential knowledge of social media trends involving the publishing industry (bookstagram, booktok).
What difference will you make?
Help us diversify people's shelves by adding more stories written by underrepresented voices. Our writers are a bridge to their favourite authors and editors.
