  • Role Summary: As a Finance Manager, your main role will be to oversee finance activities in Belgium and France, ensuring timely internal reporting and compliance, managing relationships with stakeholders and the Shared Services Center, and participating in global finance projects.

Job summary:

In this challenging position, you will be responsible for the Finance activities of our Belgian and French presence. You will also assist with accounting tasks in other countries, as a member of the Global Accounting team. As the local Finance Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders across South Pole and also external stakeholders to ensure reporting is complete in a timely fashion.

Main tasks & responsibilities:

● Responsible for internal reporting and external compliance for all activities in our Belgian and French entities 

● Managing one direct report based in France, along with managing the relationship with the Shared Service Centre based in Cape Town 

● Prepare and submit the monthly and yearly financial reporting pack and management accounts for the local entity. 

● Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and credit control in close collaboration with our Shared Services Center currently being set-up. 

● Manage cash, including weekly cash flow forecasts. 

● Coordinate with the Global Tax team the billing, review, and reconciliation of intercompany recharges. 

● Review monthly payroll and Social Security calculations. 

● Ensure full local taxation compliance with the completion and submission of mandatory local direct and indirect tax returns. 

● In coordination with the Global Tax team and the local consultants implement transfer pricing policy and procedures together with the review and submission. 

● Manage annual audits for the Belgian and French entities. 

● Manage external relationships, such as banks, external accountants, auditors. 

● Implementation and follow-up of budget and forecasts 

● Collaborate with Group Accounting Team on various global finance projects. 

● Document all accounting procedures and ensure they are in alignment with Group policies. 

● Preparation of ad hoc analysis 

● Project management: automation of procedures and implementation of a new ERP

Requirements:

Essential -

● You have a master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration. 

● Between 4 and 5 years of relevant experience in international accounting and finance. 

● Strong knowledge of accounting principles (BE GAAP), Belgian tax legislation and financial reporting standards. Experience with IFRS is a plus. 

● High-energy, flexible, and responsive work style; ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

● Good communication skills and fluent in English and French. Dutch is a plus. 

● Excellent IT skills. 

● Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

● Able to work closely in a diverse team, but also independently, able to liaise effectively with stakeholders within the organisation.

Desirable - 

● CA/ACA/ACCA equivalent qualified. 

● Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus. 

● You have experience with ERP (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics).
