Role Summary:
- Project manage environmental and civil engineering aspects of battery storage projects.
- Drive the authorization process for battery storage and grid connection infrastructures.
- Ensure project quality and timely delivery while controlling costs.
- Oversee technical and administrative documentation for project authorizations.
- Coordinate with authorities and manage the permitting process, including town hall meetings.
- Liaise with external stakeholders and partners for document preparation.
- Consult with UK team to ensure technical consistency across the group.
Role Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Planning.
- Experience in renewable energy sector authorization processes (AU, PAUR, PAS) and environmental impact assessments (VIA).
- Deep knowledge of technical regulations in the renewable energy/storage sector in Italy.
- Passion for renewables and a purpose-driven business approach.
- Ability to interact with institutions and public authorities.
- Excellent technical drafting skills and advising proficiency in Italian and English.
- Experience managing external partners and balancing priorities.
- Open to occasional travel within Italy.

Senior Permitting Project Manager

Description
The project manager is a crucial and varied role with the opportunity to have a massive impact. We will grow rapidly and so will your responsibilities, so this is not an exhaustive list. There will always be room to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Project manage all environmental and civil engineering aspects related to the development our battery storage projects in Italy
- Be responsible for the preparation and update of the project plan, in particular staying on top of timelines and ensure that delays are avoided while quality of the project kept to best in class, with the ultimate objective of bringing our battery storage projects to ready to build status as quickly as possible and with high quality in the project that will be approved, keeping costs under control throughout the process.
- Manage and monitor the entire authorization process for our battery storage projects and the related infrastructures for connection to the grid / RTN
- Review all the technical and administrative documents prepared by the consultants, necessary for obtaining authorizations for Field’s BESS projects in Italy
- Manage the permitting process (autorizzazione unica ministeriale), in particular in setting up the documentation, manage the communications with the ministry and local authorities and prepare/coordinate additional integrations in due course
- Manage relationships with local and central authorities (Ministries, Regions, Provinces, Municipalities) for the issue of AU / Sole authorization and PAS / simplified authorization permit with participation in the so called “town hall meeting” if required
- Coordinate external stakeholders and partners that will produce the documents necessary to obtain the above mentioned authorisations
- Collaborate with third-party advisors (technical, legal) during the course of the activities
- Develop of preliminary design solutions for the specific site with specific focus on mitigation and environmental compensatory measures
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- degree in Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture or Urban Planning
- experience in the authorization processes (AU, PAUR, PAS) gained in companies operating in the renewable energy sector - and environmental impact assessments (VIA) is a plus
- in-depth knowledge of the technical regulations of the renewable energy / storage sector in Italy
- passion for the renewables sector and being part of a purpose-driven business
- ability to interact with institutions and public authorities
- excellent technical drafting skills, with a simple and straightforward style when advising internal stakeholders
- experience in instructing and managing external partners
- ability to manage competing priorities, whilst maintaining the quality of advice and a good work-life balance
- fluent and confident with both written and spoken English and Italian
- willingness to teamwork, goals oriented works, and problem solving
- availability for occasional and short trips in Italy
