Organisation summary: The Refugee Venture Fund (TRVF) is an innovative £10mm pre-seed investment fund dedicated to supporting refugee entrepreneurs in the UK. This groundbreaking initiative is a collaboration between TERN and Village Capital, with backing from Atomico. It represents a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a project that seeks to integrate refugee-led businesses into the venture capital ecosystem, driving both economic and social impact.
Role Summary:Lead the launch and management of the Refugee Venture Fund.Engage with and support UK refugee entrepreneurs in scaling their businesses.Advocate for equitable practices within the venture capital industry.
Role Requirements:A minimum of 7 years in entrepreneurial ecosystems, with at least 3 years of direct investment experience.Direct lived experience of forced migration is highly valued.Demonstrated commitment to equity in the UK venture capital space.Expertise in evaluating business and financial models, as well as impact investing.Proven experience in fundraising and networking with limited partners and potential investors.

The role could be a great fit for you if you have:
💼 At least 7 years’ experience in entrepreneurial ecosystems, of which 3 years include direct investment experience
➡️ Direct lived experience of forced migration. Representation matters and we are happy to back a first-time fund manager who understands the realities of coming from a refugee background in the UK.
🌍 A strong belief and track record of advocating for equity in the UK venture capital community
📈 A strong working knowledge of evaluating business models, financial models and impact investing tools and instruments
🤝 Experience in fundraising and building relationships with limited partners (LPs) and potential investors
