You'll be a first-class writer and storyteller who’s already engaged in the public sector and social issues in the UK and excited to learn more. You’ll love rolling up your sleeves to bring ideas to life and are excited to get stuck into a hugely varied role.

Example tasks would include:

  • Identifying, prioritising and securing speaking slots for one of Beam’s leadership and supporting on messaging and slides

  • Using your own video and photography skills to tell amazing stories for our government customers about the people using Beam’s services and tech

  • Organising roundtables at Beam HQ that bring together senior government stakeholders, thought leaders and entrepreneurs

  • Writing copy for the website and brand assets and iterating them to be as engaging as possible

  • Crafting compelling award entries that celebrate Beam as a leader in the field of tech-enabled welfare services

You are

  • Humble, empathetic and hungry to learn about government and welfare services - previous experience with government is just a nice-to-have

  • Excited about the possibilities of technology and AI to bring change and keen to bring your true, open self to work

  • Creative and brimming with ideas, with high attention to detail - you set meticulous standards for yourself and your work

  • Someone who thrives under pressure and is unfazed by fast-paced environments and high expectations

  • Experience in at least one of:

    • PR, including the full lifecycle from story ideation to selling in and securing stories

    • Event planning or securing speaking engagements
