Role Summary

  • Define a compelling vision and strategy for a complex domain within the app.
  • Persuade cross-functional stakeholders with well-crafted visual storytelling and narratives.
  • Lead initiatives from inception to launch, ensuring the quality of design work.
  • Deliver high-quality designs and prototypes that align user needs with business goals and technical constraints.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Research teams to transform vision into tangible products that delight users.
  • Move seamlessly between high-level vision work and hands-on experiments with in-flight projects.

Role Requirements

  • 8+ years of product design experience with a track record of building and shipping applications.
  • Expertise in interaction design, visual design, typography, UI, color, layout, and iconography.
  • Proven ability to define long-term product visions and represent work to leadership.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience with Generative AI and its application in product design.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience in end-to-end design processes across multiple projects.
  • Ability to connect and collaborate on work with other initiatives across the company.
  • Leadership experience that has strengthened teams and enhanced work environments.
  • Design experience in a two-sided marketplace.

Work Location and Salary

About the Design Team

We're a tight-knit team of product designers, researchers, and content designers working closely with engineers and product managers to research, explore, and iterate on well-crafted user experiences that are innovative, engaging, and delightful. We collaborate regularly through design critiques, work sessions, and presentations to inspire and influence the direction of the product and company as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and define a compelling vision and strategy for a complex domain area. Effectively persuade a wide audience of cross-functional stakeholders through well-crafted visual storytelling and narratives.
  • Lead multiple initiatives from inception to launch, including overseeing the quality of other designers’ work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • Deliver high-quality designs and prototypes that balance user needs with business objectives and technical requirements. 
  • Work alongside Product, Engineering, and Research leadership to author and align strategies to turn vision work into shipped products that benefit our customer, pros, and business
  • Be able to comfortably move between high-level vision work to executing and developing experiments on in-flight projects

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 8+ years of overall product design experience building and shipping applications from concept, development, and shipping.
  • Interaction design experience defining and evangelizing how an experience should behave based on understanding people's needs, consideration of your work impacts our business and examples of the use of appropriate prototyping tools.
  • Visual design expertise with a high proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, color, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense and how these elements impact product function.
  • History of defining long-term product vision through applied design thinking, design skillset, and powerful narratives. Experience representing work to product, engineering, and company leadership.
  • Understands how to balance high-quality craft and crisp execution with agility, speed to learning, and iterative experimentation
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience applying Generative AI and the skills to leverage it various features and products

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience showcasing end-to-end design process across multiple projects, includes interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Experience connecting work with other related initiatives across the company while driving collaboration.
  • Proven leadership in non-product areas that have made a team stronger and positively impacted the work environment.
  • Experience designing for a two-sided marketplace

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $208,250 - $269,500. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.

For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $177,012.50 - $229,075. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
