Operations Co-Ordinator for George Northwood Salons

Overview

George Northwood, the celebrated and expanding hairdressing brand, seeks a versatile Operations Coordinator to report to the CEO. Are you a professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills? Do you have hands-on experience in operations management? Can you prioritise and multi-task? Can you effortlessly switch between self-motivated, autonomous, and team-player mindsets. Are you ambitious to expand and develop your existing operational and people-management abilities? Remuneration: Up to £28,000 a year.

Working Hours: Shift and schedule / 8 hour shift / Monday to Friday / Weekend availability.

Location: Primarily London W1 with certain responsibilities at other London salons.

Job Type: Permanent Role

Education and Experience: A-Level or equivalent standard of education. Experience in a comparable role with Operations/Office Management experience essential. A professional attitude with experience working as part of a multi-level team in a service/customer-facing industry.

Role Purpose:

As the Operations Coordinator you are fully accountable for the efficient and consistent support of the business and the smooth operation of the George Northwood salons. Working with the support of GN’s senior management, you will provide essential assistance to the executive team in the daily operations and continued growth of the business. This Operations Coordinator role is based primarily in our W1 Salon, however, it will involve some work at our other salon locations.

Responsibilities:

Operations:

·       Learn the opening, operating, and closing procedures for each salon.

·       Complete staff and sales reports ensuring systems information is accurate and up-to-date.

·       Coordinate weekly rotas, manage staff holiday bookings, and arrange cover.

·       Undertake buying of stock from specific suppliers allocated to you. Follow due process maintaining the correct levels of stock are purchased, ensuring no key items run out of stock, whilst adhering to operating budgets and invoice procedures.

·       Manage salon maintenance requirements with a hands-on attitude to fixing problems and resolving maintenance, cleaning, and Mechanical and Electrical issues.

·       Coordinate Fire and Health and Safety inspections and follow up on any remedial actions.

Customer Support:

·       Demonstrate the highest standards of customer service both in face to face engagement in the salon and in electronic communications, setting best-in-class examples for other staff members.

·       Respond to online customer queries, complaints and feedback with a professional and measured attitude.

·       Liaising with suppliers to fulfil customer requests where needed.

·       Support the reception team in busy periods and help to cover staff holidays as required.

Recruitment:

·       Post, manage and update online job ads.

·       Screen candidates and arrange in-person interviews and trial shifts.

·       Oversee onboarding of new employees, including issuing contracts and training on systems and procedures.

Administration:

·       Provide administrative support to the senior management team and undertake ad-hoc projects as required.

·       Aid and assist in managing diaries and internal and external communications.

Requirements:

As the Operations Coordinator for George Northwood you are essentially an ambassador with excellent business administration and communication skills, displaying a relentless drive to complete projects and move the business forward.

It is essential as Operations Coordinator that you are able to simultaneously juggle multiple priorities.

You must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. As the ideal candidate you will be organised and highly proactive. You will also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to achieve targets under pressure. As the Operations Coordinator for this prestigious brand, you must be comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels of seniority as well as having the personality and attitude to professionally engage with clients with high expectations.

You should be computer literate. As Operations Coordinator you must be process-oriented with a keen eye for detail.

A flexible attitude and excellent time management skills are essential - there will be occasions when working out of office or salon hours is required.
