What will you be doing?

What do we want you to do? Be the driver behind us becoming a charitable organisation, make sure the governance and processes are in order, and help us identify and develop our first ever board of trustees.  Who will you work closely with? We have a CEO - who you will work with a lot - plus another Deputy CEO whose focus is on safeguarding and volunteer wellbeing. Also a Development and engagement lead who will help us work towards sustainability.  Is there any flexibility? Time wise? Yes. Deliverable wise? Only if you have a viable alternative solution. And we are open to suggestions.

What are we looking for?

Experience in a leadership role in the charity sector  Experience in management, governance and reporting Strong analytical skills  Experience of strategic development in the charity sector - specifically in achieving charitable status Diplomatic attitude, inclusion-led and values-driven, with the ability and passion for leading by example A strong knowledge of the charity sector and LGBTQIA+ rights Commitment to the leadership, management and development of the organisation

We are a group of LGBTQIA+ volunteers creating a space for LGBTQIA+ people therefore we request that you are also part of the LGBTQIA+ community as lived experience is key to what we do.  Please note that we are explicitly trans and intersex inclusive. We strive to be anti-racist and anti-ableist, and recognise the importance of our intersectional identities. We honour and respect each others’ identities, experiences and insights. We will not tolerate any bigotry, hatred or questioning of others’ identities or experiences. We aim to be aware and transparent about the power and privileges that we hold, and to be mindful of the impact of these on others, within and beyond the community.  We do not expect anyone to adjust who they are to fit into group, rather we want you to be your authentic you and by doing that add so much value to everyone else.

What difference will you make?

Your impact will be to help us create a charity that is there specifically to elevate, advocate and support LGBTQIA+ people across charities and the wider civil society. We already know there are many people calling out for this - so come and help us create something truly special.
