The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity dedicated to creating a world where trees and woods thrive for both people and nature. Our mission involves engaging and inspiring individuals to contribute toward tackling the nature and climate crisis through the protection, restoration, and creation of essential woodland habitats.

The role: As an Assistant Outreach Adviser in our South East England team, you will assist with delivering conservation impact through the creation, restoration, and sustainable management of native wooded habitats on land outside the Trust's own estate. This contributes to the Trust's objective of landscape scale ecological restoration. You will offer advice to landowners and land managers, particularly farmers, to increase native tree cover on their landholdings through the creation of new woodland and agroforestry. Additionally, you will provide advice on sustainable management of existing wooded habitats and assist with project management and administration, including the coordination of tree orders and liaison with contractors and consultants.

Job requirements: You'll need experience working in the land management sector with a good understanding of land management issues and a passion for conservation. Good knowledge of land management practices, and an ability to engage with landowners and land managers from a variety of different practices and backgrounds is essential. A proactive 'can-do' attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective partnerships internally and externally are required. A full driving licence is necessary for this role.

Benefits: Joining our team means you'll be a big part of tackling environmental and climate issues. We take good care of our staff, offering support and training opportunities. Benefits include an enhanced employer pension, life assurance, flexible & hybrid working options, generous annual leave, enhanced parental pay, and an employee assistance programme.

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: We strive to better reflect society and the communities we work in. People of colour and disabled people are currently under-represented across the environment and conservation sector, and we particularly encourage applications from these groups.
