We are looking for an Education Coordinator to join the Targeted Provision team on a remote basis, to support our mission of providing vulnerable learners with the UK’s best holistic and trauma-informed tutors and education specialists.

At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK.

We work with schools and local authorities to provide specialist tutors and mentors for children and young people with additional educational needs.

We also support mentoring and engagement / re-engagement for young people in need of Alternative Provision. We believe that with the right support and role model in their lives, every child can grow in confidence and succeed in learning.

Our Referrals Team is driven by a child-centred and quality-first ethos, always making the best match between a learner and their tutor / education specialist and providing ongoing support from there. We go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our young people.

The role

In this role you will be receiving referrals for children and young people requiring support from Local Authorities and schools, liaising with parents / carers, and from there matching the child / young person with our tutors and education specialists. Young people are referred to us for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to; Special Education Needs and Disabilities, they are looked after and have recently moved to a location where a school place is not readily available, they have emotional, behavioural or mental health needs.

Tasks:

  • Receiving requests for support for children / young people
  • Reviewing information on children / young people referred to us
  • Understanding the needs of our children / young people and advising on appropriate packages of support
  • Liaising with multiple stakeholders involved in tuition, including LA contacts, schools, parents / carers, and tutors / education specialists
  • Acting as a point of contact for our tutors and education specialists and ongoingly managing the support package you put in place
  • Monitoring tutor / specialist quality and ongoingly improving our understanding of our workforce
  • Admin based tasks, including recording young person information and managing multiple inboxes

You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about education and the impact we can have on the lives of young people. You’ll be keen to get stuck in, learn quickly, and take on new challenges. A high level of emotional intelligence is essential. Experience in education and an understanding of the sector and the current state of educational provisions for young people with SEND and Looked After Children would be an asset in this role.

Required:

  • Demonstrable interest in the education sector and commitment to changing the lives of vulnerable young people.
  • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a role managing multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literacy and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding in education
  • Experience in working for / with local authorities
  • Knowledge of special education needs
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service
