We're creating a communal eating culture that starts with our team and expands into our client network.

Everything we do at Karma Cans is about creating a positive, healthy eating culture that fosters friendship, great ideas and community. More than just providing meals, we’re getting people to sit down together, talk and share ideas.

This year we are expanding our events side of the business. Running incredible events for our best-in-class clients, such as Amazon, Nike, Salesforce and many more,

We're expanding the team and looking for a fantastic Events Coordinator to handle our events end-to-end.

You’ll be joining the Karma Cans Sales Team and Operations Team to make sure our events go smoothly and help to build client relationships and retention.

The Role:

  • New events strategies, thinking about channels we can expand into
  • Running events end-to-end with the support of sales & operations
  • Stock checks and ordering of events equipment
  • Innovating and implementing new event offerings
  • Menu development for events
  • Managing events staff
  • Create and develop events processes
  • Working with your line manager you will build out accurate costs of setting up and running events to ensure maximum profit margins.

When it comes to experience, we think you can learn most of what you need to about our industry and the customers we serve on the job. Ideally, we'd like 1-2 years of either sales, ops or events experience.

Confident being client-fronted. Important you are energised by working closely with clients to create amazing events and enjoy building relationships.

Organised and operationally minded. Working closely between two departments, being extremely thorough and organised to make sure events go well.

Manage accounts. Supporting sales in managing the events clients and collecting feedback to keep improving our service.

You’ve got to love food, we talk a lot about food, and we eat together every day, so it's key you love it too.

You’re a hustler; you’re charming, think strategically and clearly about how to achieve your goals best.

Rather than looking at just CVs Karma Cans is about giving you all the information about our roles and then if you still want to apply getting through a couple of questions where we can understand your skills, rather than a piece of paper. We know it adds a little time here, but we think that the better picture that gets built around the whole of you, the better.

The process takes 3-4 weeks from reading this long document to job offer. There will be two interviews, followed by an in-office presentation where you get to meet the team.

We ask for your C.V and two references later down the line, but right now, our hiring team will only be looking at your responses, they will not have access to names and other identifiers are kept separate to prevent unconscious bias.

So if this role sounds like a good fit.....Let's take it to the next step shall we?

Provide responses to the following:

1) Describe your reasons for applying for this role, and tell us honestly what your career and development aspirations are.

2) You've got a new events client, how would you encourage them to book their events through us in the future?

3) Tell us about a time you were planning an event, what did you do, what was the outcome, did you learn anything from the experience?

1) Hi, I'm Lucy and at the moment I've been helping a bBodega set up in Folkestone, writing it's sustainability policy, running front and back of house as well as the kitchen and events programme. It's a lot but I love getting my hands and mind stuck into the hollistic aspect of a business. That is what inspired me to answer your questions today. Culture, community, cracking a crust over sharing of ideas and creating positive impact through concise business and experience continuity. About 8 years ago I could not continue working in the fashion industry anymore and turning a blind eye to its environmental impact. I went out to Portugal to help build an eco camp, doing everything from construction to gardens, food service and styling. I've since worked for a variety of different organisations stage managing for festivals such as the Good Life Society and Timber Festival, gardens, restaurants and construct and curate event openings for Salt +Earth Festival in Folkestone. I want to work with a heavily women led, diverse team that links arms and encourages eachtother to do their best for the planet and eachtoehr, that supports eachother with clear and empathetic communication, and that strives to lead the way for better business. I thrive in production -meeting new people and clients, connecting their needs, goals and talents to curate stronger community experience, lasting memories and a healthy, revenue that nourishes soul and economy. I cannot work with any organisation or person who does not strive to make this planet and all its inhabitants empathetically thrive.
