This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience of a charity’s finances, providing end-to-end accounting processes and supporting Renaissance Foundation’s financial decision making and reporting.
The role will require regular time commitment as many of the processes are deadline driven, averaging two days a month. You may also provide ad-hoc and project-based support to Renaissance Foundation, presenting to the Board as relevant.
This is a volunteer role. We are looking for a qualified accountant with experience of book-keeping and payroll. This role will include:
Accounting/Book-keeping
- Maintaining a simple general ledger (XERO) and producing monthly management accounts
- Accounts payable, co-ordinating the capture of invoices and receipts
- Streamline employee expense processes
- Implement visibility and reporting of programme costs through the implementation of a simple coding system
Payroll
- Produce monthly payroll file for payroll bureau and ensure necessary changes are made
- Reconcile monthly payroll and pension contributions
Additional responsibilities (time permitting)
- In conjunction with senior management, produce monthly income and cost forecasts for use by the Board and the Fundraising Committee
- Produce annual statutory accounts
- Support the fundraising team with cost budgets for funding applications
