  • Deliver engaging curriculum-focused programmes to school groups.
  • Collaborate with the Education team under the guidance of the Education Development Manager.
  • Facilitate educational visits predominantly during term time, with some short notice bookings.
  • Proven experience in teaching or audience engagement in heritage/education settings.
  • Strong communication skills and team collaboration.
  • Flexibility to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A passion for heritage, arts, and/or the natural environment.
  • Familiarity with the UK school curriculum is a plus.

We are the River & Rowing Museum (RRM), a unique institution that has welcomed over two million visitors since 1998. We are proud of our achievements and are committed to providing a first-class cultural experience for many years to come. Our focus is on the non-tidal River Thames, the town of Henley-on-Thames and the international sport of rowing. We use the river to excite, involve and educate a wide audience from young to old, enthusiast to amateur, families to individuals.

The role of the Learning Facilitator is to join our Education team to deliver curriculum focused learning for school visitors. This role reports to the Education Development Manager and works closely with our team of Education Tutors. The role is based at the Museum and is a variable hours contract, Monday to Friday. The majority of which would be in term time to support educational visits. These are on pre-booked, basis, and range from 1.5 hours to a full day. There may be situations where bookings are short notice.

Job requirements include experience of teaching/ engaging audiences in a heritage or education setting, clear and engaging communication skills, ability to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team, and an active interest in heritage, arts and/or the natural environment. Up-to-date knowledge of the UK school curriculum is desirable, but not essential.

Benefits include an hourly rate of £13.00 per hour (£14.57 including 12.07% uplift for holiday pay). Training will be through shadowing.
