What will you be doing?
We are looking to recruit 4 new Trustees with experience in one or more of the following: fundraising, strategy development, digital transformation, change management, sector expertise, finance and EDI. The primary responsibility of Trustees is to provide the charity with clear strategic direction. 6 Main Duties
Ensure the charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit Comply with the charity’s governing document and the law Act in the charity’s best interests Manage the charity’s resources responsibly Act with reasonable care and skill Ensure the charity is accountable
Other Trustee Responsibilities In addition to the above duties, each Trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the Board of Trustees make good decisions and ensure the charity fulfils its objects. This will involve:
Advocating our cause, amplifying our message and expanding our network Attending Board meetings as appropriate Scrutinising Board papers and other communications Leading discussions and providing guidance on new initiatives, particularly in areas where the Trustee has specific skills, knowledge or expertise Abiding by the charity’s policies and procedures Acting as a signatory on behalf of the charity, when mandated by the Board to do so Participating in activities to promote the charity to beneficiaries, funders and the wider public Contributing on other issues or areas of special expertise
What are we looking for?
We seek to appoint 4 Trustees to our Board. We are looking for individuals with diverse experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds, who can embrace the challenge of contributing to a dynamic and energetic children’s charity. First time Trustees are welcome to apply. Experience We are looking for individuals with experience in one or more of these areas:
Fundraising: Demonstrated success in fundraising, with a proven ability to identify and cultivate funder relationships, and secure financial support. Strategy Development: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic plans that drive organisational growth and effectiveness. Digital Transformation: Demonstrated experience in leveraging innovative technologies and digital platforms to enhance organisational processes, outreach, and impact. Change Management: Demonstrated experience in leading and managing organisational change, ensuring smooth transitions and sustained progress. Sector Expertise: Demonstrated impactful work within the education or mental health/wellbeing sectors, showing an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in these fields. Finance: Demonstrated proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and management, ensuring compliance and strategic resource allocation. Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Demonstrated experience in promoting EDI within an organisational context.
