- Role Requirements - We're seeking individuals with a STEM background, ideally with a PhD or MSc, or significant experience. You should be adept at remote work, have a deep understanding of the UK/EU funding landscape, and boast a proven track record in winning grant applications. Expertise in areas like Life Sciences, AI, IT, Renewable Energy, Quantum Technologies, and Agri-Tech is highly desirable.

We are constantly expanding our network of subcontracted Grant Writers, and are currently looking for writers with a strong track record of success with EU funding schemes. At GrantTree we work with many of the UK’s most innovative companies, helping them to maximise their government and European funding opportunities.
Our Grant Writers are responsible for creating compelling and engaging narratives that speak to the requirements of the grant in question; capturing the imagination of the assessors to secure consistent wins for our clients.
We’re looking to add more expertise to our already talented network of Grant Writers,and that’s where you come in.
We maintain a pool of highly talented subcontracted writers, to tailor-fit the projects to individuals with the right background and expertise. As a GrantTree Grant Writer, you will gain a quick understanding of your client's vision and motivations by engaging deep dives with founders / C-level executives, augmented with thorough background research. You will establish effective relationships with our internal Grants team, providing them with content and knowledge for each bid application you work on. You will create concise and honest application narratives in GrantTree’s voice, whilst accounting for client specification, to position them in the best possible light for a bid.
Key Responsibilities:
Craft engaging and persuasive grant applications that meet specific criteria and captivate assessors, thereby securing funding for our clients.
Conduct in-depth discussions with founders and C-level executives to fully grasp their visions and objectives.
Perform comprehensive background research to augment client meetings and ensure a thorough understanding of each project.
Collaborate closely with internal Grants teams to provide expert content and insight for each bid.
Tailor application narratives to reflect GrantTree's voice and client specifications effectively, ensuring the best positioning for bid success.
Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with a network of subcontracted writers, ensuring the right fit of expertise for specific projects.
Requirements:
A background in science, engineering, or medicine, ideally holding a PhD or MSc, or possessing significant experience in a STEM field.
Ability to engage confidently with senior professionals and innovators across various disciplines.
Comfortable with remote work arrangements both with GrantTree and its clients.
A deep understanding of the UK/EU grants funding landscape and the grants application process, and a proven track record of submitting winning funding applications.
Operating as a self-sufficient freelancer under a sole-trader or limited company structure.
