Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • Experience in community engagement, marketing, or social behavior change in rural settings.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or adoption-focused roles in the social impact sector.
  • Ability to design farmer-centered communication strategies.
  • Moderate data analysis skills.
  • Experience in multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.

One Acre Fund was founded in 2006 and is dedicated to equipping 5.5 million smallholder farmers to enhance their farm productivity. We operate across nine countries in Africa, which are home to two-thirds of the continent's farmers. We provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a variety of other agricultural services. Our model typically helps farmers increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35%, while also permanently boosting their resilience.

The Role: You will be responsible for designing and leading field-tested adoption and engagement strategies that help farmers understand the value of our programs, build trust, and confidently choose to enroll. This role is crucial as it lies at the intersection of field operations, behavior change, and communication, turning farmer insights into practical, scalable adoption solutions.

Job Requirements: - Knowledge of community engagement, marketing, or social behavior change in rural settings. - 3+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or adoption-focused roles within the development or social impact sector. - Ability to design farmer-centered communication and outreach strategies. - Moderate data analysis skills (Google Sheets, dashboards) and ability to interpret adoption trends and translate insights into field actions. - Experience in designing or executing multi-channel marketing campaigns, including field activations, SMS, radio, and community engagement. - Strong communication skills. - Coaching and facilitation skills to build the marketing capacity of field officers and directors.
