Role Summary
- This role places you in our Pricing Team, directly underneath the Head of Risk Pricing.
- We drive business growth through responsibilities like managing loss ratios, and optimizing our underwriting footprint and brokers.
- Breaking the mold of a conventional pricing team, we move swiftly, innovatively, and maintain ownership of our work.
- Our tasks go beyond the mundane churn of GLMs to building state-of-the-art, in-house pricing data science models.
- You will also collaborate with a wider Data Science community to model customer behavior, fraud, and ML Eng enhancements.
Role Requirements
- Be proactive and able to drive growth by identifying new opportunities.
- Minimum 4-year experience in a data-driven role, preferably in commercial or insurance.
- Competent modeling expertise in data science and working with APIs and engineers to implement change.
- Excellent stakeholder management and superior communication skills to translate technical jargon into meaningful impact.

The role This role will sit in the Pricing Team, reporting into the Head of Risk Pricing. The team is responsible for managing our loss ratio, underwriting footprint, broker optimisation and growth targets. This means that the Pricing Team is integral to driving the business forwards. We work in a very different way to most pricing teams that you might be familiar with. Everyone in Pricing has the potential to make a massive contribution to the business, so we all take ownership, move fast, innovate and deliver changes to our rates at high frequency. You’ll also be excited to know that we don’t just churn out GLMs all day. We build & deploy exceptional in-house pricing data science models using the latest modelling techniques. You’ll work alongside other Pricing Data Scientists & Analysts pushing their innovative pricing projects; whilst also being able to work with the wider Data Science community on modelling customer behaviour, fraud & ML Eng enhancements.
Job requirements We are looking for someone proactive, with the ability to drive growth by identifying & delivering new opportunities. You should be a skilled modeller with expertise in data science, able to build innovative best in class models, and thrive working on APIs and alongside engineers to enact change. You should have at least 4 years of experience working in a data driven (ideally commercial or insurance) role. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills are essential, with the ability to translate technical concepts into meaningful impact.
