- Collaborate with the Head of Stakeholder Engagement to boost Arts Council England's presence among policymakers.

Arts Council England is looking for a passionate public affairs specialist with a genuine interest in politics and communications. We're looking for someone with experience of working in public affairs or a political environment. The Communications Officer role comes with a salary of £32,974 p/a and excellent benefits.
As a Communications Officer, you will work closely with the Head of Stakeholder Engagement to help them raise Arts Council England’s profile with key policy makers and opinion formers. In your first few weeks in this Communications Officer role, you can expect to: Draft briefings and conduct desk research for senior colleagues and external stakeholders on a range of policy issues of relevance to the Arts Council. Conduct extensive political and stakeholder monitoring across Westminster/ Whitehall and the wider creative sector. Keep abreast of parliamentary activity – building good relationships with key stakeholders. Draft responses to information requests from MPs, Ministers and other external stakeholders about our work. Share your knowledge of public affairs/ stakeholder engagement, and advise on strategies for advocating and championing the benefits of culture to key policymakers and opinion formers.
To apply for this Communications Officer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include: Experience working in a public affairs or a political environment. You will also need to understand how Parliament, Whitehall and local government work, and have knowledge of the key issues facing the cultural sector in England. In addition, you should be comfortable with communicating to a variety of stakeholders and decision-makers.
