What will you be doing?
Newington Green Alliance is a UK registered charity committed to nurturing compassionate connections and understanding in order to help people transcend the ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic divides that prevent community bonds. Compassionate connections are vital in fostering a genuinely inclusive and mutually beneficial community. Research confirms the profound impact of strengthening community ties, enhancing mental well-being, happiness, education, economic prosperity, and reducing isolation and crime. NGA is focused primarily in the London boroughs of Hackney and Islington.Workshop Delivery Leader/Facilitators will help conduct specialised workshops designed to promote compassion and understanding across differences as part of building diverse, supportive and sustaining community. Deliver engaging and interactive workshops that help to build compassion and understanding among participants. Facilitate discussions and activities that promote understanding, compassion, and community building. Adapt workshop delivery to suit different audiences and settings. Gather, analyse, and respond to participant feedback to improve future offerings. Work collaboratively to ensure the smooth execution of all workshops. Attract participants to workshops and other events. Maintain supportive and productive relations with and between participants of NGA workshops and events.
What are we looking for?
Experience in delivering workshops or appropriate transferable skills Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Understanding of group dynamics Ability to engage and interact with diverse audiences. Confidence in facilitating discussions and activities. Understanding and comfort with managing conflict in group settings. Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic workshop settings. Passion for community building and social inclusion. Ability to access the boroughs of Islington and Hackney for events several times per month.
Time Commitment: Volunteers must commit to at least six months with NGA, averaging 2-3 hours per week for NGA tasks. Remote Work: Volunteers will primarily work remotely and must have regular access to a stable internet connection. Online Meetings: Volunteers will participate in regular online meetings to plan, share teamwork, and provide updates on completed tasks. Ability to travel to location of event: Volunteers will need to travel independently to the location of the event. Moderate expenses, if needed, can be provided in line with our policies.

You will be helping NGA develop an exciting new programme which aims to improve the lives of people living in and around Hackney and Islington by giving them skills to help face challenges in their lives and communities.
