What will you be doing?
Recruitment: responsible for recruiting and vetting volunteers for overseas projects. This involves advertising volunteer opportunities, conducting interviews, and selecting suitable candidates. Collaborating with the Communications and Programmes teams to create and advertise volunteering opportunities in line with the charity’s (and partner organisation’s) objectives. Training and support: ensuring that volunteers receive appropriate training before representing the charity or any of its partners Raise awareness of the available volunteering opportunities with WENDO and partners through various platforms including social media, volunteer forums and other avenues. Compliance: provide volunteers with the necessary tools to adhere to the charity's policies and procedures, as well as any relevant legal and regulatory requirements in the host country Act as a link and a focal point between the prospective volunteers and the charity, providing relevant and update to date information to the volunteers. Work closely with the WENDO Kenya team to collect and act on complaints and feedback from the volunteers Coordinate with WENDO team in Kenya and the partners to Planning and scheduling volunteer placement relevant to charity need, volunteers’ skills, strengths and abilities Liaising with WENDO and partners teams to plan for travel, accommodation and other necessities for the volunteers. Coordinate with the WENDO team in Kenya and its partners to plan and schedule volunteer placements relevant to the charity’s needs and objectives and volunteers’ skills, strengths and experience Take the lead in documenting and sharing volunteers’ experiences for social media and continuous improvement efforts.
What are we looking for?
You will have a passion for women empowerment and development initiative Training and or hands on experience in public relations Have experience in social networking. Overseas volunteer experience with knowledge of East Africa is desired. Good Interpersonal skills, Cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication skills Strong organisational skills Experience in logistical management is desired
