What will you be doing?
CPRE Hertfordshire, the countryside charity, campaigns to protect and promote the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside for everyone to enjoy. The pandemic has shown how much we all need and value the green spaces around us, so our work is more important now than ever. We are seeking an experienced videographer / filmmaker for our charity’s Annual General Meeting, which will be held all afternoon on Saturday 5th October 2024. This will be our largest event of the year, with speakers, a guided tour of an environmental restoration project, and a display and prize-giving of our nature-themed Children’s Art Competition. The event will be held at the privately owned Woodhall estate near Watton-at-Stone in East Hertfordshire. Your role will be to capture the event in video. This will include the landscape and scenery around Woodhall, some of the River Beane restoration project which will be featured on a guided walk, highlights of our speakers, highlights of our CPRE members engaging with the event, our staff and volunteers, and importantly, our Children’s Art Competition prize winners and their winning artworks. Outputs will include a 5 minute video of the event, along with a shorter 1-2 minute version for social media. The completed videos will be needed by mid-October, approximately one week after the event. We will also need a separate cut of just the Children’s Art Competition, but this can be produced and finalised later than the other outputs. We will provide a written project brief, our CPRE brand guidelines, and a video call to discuss the requirements beforehand (approximately 1 hour of your time).
What are we looking for?
Professional experience in filmmaking / video production and editing Must have own equipment for filming and editing – both hardware and software Good verbal and written communication skills Comfortable interacting with a wide range of people and the general public, including children and their parents Must be well-organised, self-motivated, proactive and responsive Ability to keep sight of the big picture whilst maintaining strong grip on the details Must have own transportation We prefer that you live in Hertfordshire.
What difference will you make?
Your films will be visually compelling and present the countryside and our charity in an engaging way. You will capture short snippets of how people feel about the countryside and why it’s important to them, and in the case of the children, why they care about nature. Your films will help CPRE Hertfordshire promote our work in a positive way, and help build more support for our charity and for the countryside.
