Role Requirements:
- A level education or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar Systems Engineer role.
- Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server/Client environments.
- Proficiency in VMWare, Networking, Wi-Fi, firewall, switch configuration, Microsoft Azure IAAS/PAAS, and Windows Server patching.
The British Museum is looking for a talented Systems Engineer: Infrastructure Services to join our team. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, offering a salary of £38,750 per annum.
The Role: As part of the infrastructure team, you will provide technical expertise and operational support in the delivery of enterprise-wide, leading edge, IT infrastructure and platform services to the Museum’s 1,000 staff and for the millions of guests who visit and use the Museum’s services. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and developing the Museum’s IT infrastructure, provisioning network and security services, providing ITIL based 3rd line operational support, conducting preventative maintenance routines, and ensuring services meet security best practices. You will also contribute to projects focused on implementing new technologies and features into the Museum's IT infrastructure.
Job Requirements: You should be educated to A level, or equivalent, with demonstrable experience of working in a similar role. Experience supporting a Microsoft Windows Server/Client environment is essential. Proficiency in at least two of the following areas is required: VMWare, Networking and Wi-Fi, including firewall and switch configuration, Microsoft Azure IAAS/PAAS, Windows Server including patching.
