What will you be doing?
We are currently looking for at least two new board members who share our values and commitment to Skaped's growth interested in being a treasurer. We are striving to be unconventional, creating an organisation that prioritises care and acceptance both within our activism and general workspace. We aim to be prominent as a diverse and inclusive organisation. We strongly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, faiths, races, gender identities, sexual orientations, economic circumstances, marginalised communities and backgrounds, and those from disabled communities. Our current Board consists of 4 trustees responsible for the organisation. We are now looking for new board members who want to see Skaped expand its ambitious plans for the future. We're particularly eager to hear from candidates with a robust background in fundraising, finance, and /or accounting, especially within the non-profit sector. What are we looking for?
Job Requirements - An understanding of working with a founder who is still involved in the organisation's delivery. - Commitment to Skaped policies and procedures. - Understands the value of art and how this can lead to community and societal change - Who possesses a good understanding of working with young people, especially in deprived areas - Skaped is a women-led organisation, so we're looking for someone who has a strong commitment to supporting and championing the Skaped community of women: (by women, we mean anyone who ever self-identifies as such, be they cis, trans, non-binary, or gender fluid!) Treasure Position:
Assist and advise in the development of the charity’s strategy, ensuring that adequate resources are available to achieve strategic objectives. Support the CEO in providing the Board with comprehensive budgetary and financial information, including Annual Accounts, and assist in preparing quarterly financial reports. Ensure all accounts are prepared and disclosed in accordance with the requirements of funders and relevant statutory bodies. Collaborate with the Treasurer, CEO, and board to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with Skaped’s budget and strategic goals.
Trustees with Fundraising Experience:
Proactively identify and pursue new grant sources and fundraising opportunities to support Skaped’s mission and financial needs. Collaborate with the Treasurer, CEO, and board to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with Skaped’s budget and strategic goals.
What difference will you make?
Skaped is a small Artivist charity based in East London. We work with young people in East London to educate them about community building and human rights through the creative arts. We are currently governed by our Board of Trustees, who hold overall responsibilities of the organisation. As a member of the Skaped Board, you will be expected to champion the Skaped values and support our senior team leaders as we begin the next chapter of our journey.
