One Acre Fund, an organization dedicated to helping 5.5 million smallholder farmers across nine countries increase their productivity, is eagerly searching for a Financial Advisory Services Specialist based in Zambia. This role involves close collaboration with both the local and Global Finance teams, the creation and maintenance of budgets, and conducting financial analyses. The chosen candidate will work toward our mission, providing high-quality farm supplies and services to farmers, with an enthusiastic team of over 9000 full-time staff.

Role Summary:

  • Manage annual budgets
  • Lead budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and strategize cost efficiency
  • Prepare and present financial and grant reports
  • Conduct monthly payroll reviews and variance analyses


Role Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance; part-qualified ACCA or ZICA member
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Google Sheets, and Power BI
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • 4+ years in accounting, finance, or audit with robust financial modelling skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

One Acre Fund, founded in 2006, equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to enhance farm productivity across nine countries, home to two-thirds of Africa's farmers. We provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a range of other agricultural services. Our model typically boosts farmer income and assets on supported land by over 35%, enhancing their resilience. Our team of 9,000+ full-time staff from diverse backgrounds contributes to this mission.

The Role: As a Financial Advisory Services Specialist based in Zambia, you will ensure the financial health and sustainability of our Carbon and Core programs. You will work closely with both local and Global Finance teams to lead budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting, influencing program performance and organizational strategy. This role involves collaboration within a two-person team, including a FAS Associate and yourself as the Specialist.

Job Requirements: - Degree in Accounting/Finance; part-qualified ACCA or ZICA member - Advanced skills in Excel, Google Sheets, and Power BI - Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail - 4+ years in accounting, finance, or audit with robust financial modelling skills - Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities: - Manage annual budgets and monthly Budget v Actual (BVA) processes with department heads - Conduct cost-benefit analyses and strategize cost efficiency without compromising quality - Prepare and present financial reports and grant reports adhering to strict timelines and requirements - Conduct monthly payroll reviews and variance analyses
