Job summary:

The goal of the Managing Consultant is to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality consultancy advice to clients and support business development in the region.

The role will be responsible for project management of consulting mandates, functioning as the key point of contact for clients, and providing technical inputs to project teams on topics including GHG accounting, development of Science-based Targets (SBTs) and decarbonization roadmaps. The role will also contribute to business development by working on proposals and leading scoping calls with potential clients as a technical expert.

Shortlisted candidates will have an excellent understanding of GHG accounting principles and decarbonisation strategies, and will have previous experience working in industry or consulting roles in the food and agriculture sector.

Main tasks & responsibilities:


  • Project management and delivery of consulting mandates on topics including GHG accounting, setting science-based targets, agri sector decarbonisation, water stewardship, no-deforestation strategies and insetting

  • Ensure delivery of projects within specified timelines and budgets

  • As project manager, lead teams of 2-3 consultants, providing technical guidance on the above climate-related topics

  • Interact with and build relationships with clients, understanding their needs and serving as the key point of contact during and after project implementation

  • Support business development by crafting high-quality technical proposals, and identifying opportunities to engage with new and existing clients

  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing and team training activities by conducting internal learning sessions and participating in knowledge sharing groups

Requirements:

Essential -


  • At least 4 years of work experience in GHG accounting, target setting and decarbonisation for the agricultural sector, in industry or consulting roles

  • Good understanding of the agricultural sector and major commodities in the APAC market, including on-farm practices, processing activities, waste and water management, and decarbonisation strategies

  • Excellent and proven project management skills from both a technical and an administrative perspectives, with the ability to manage project teams located across multiple countries

  • Ability to efficiently analyse large amounts of data, identify solutions to technical problems and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Excellent prioritisation, time management and communication skills

  • University degree, ideally at a Master’s level, in a relevant field

Desirable - 


  • Experience in insetting, water stewardship or no-deforestation strategies

  • Experience with stakeholder and client management

  • Fluency in Thai, Bahasa Indonesia or other SEA languages

  • Experience with working in a fast-paced international environment
