- Role Summary:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice for Field Italia’s battery storage projects.
- Assist in real estate, planning, and construction due diligence.
- Handle legal matters for the Italian entity, including drafting and negotiating various agreements.
- Coordinate with the UK legal team to ensure group-wide legal consistency.
- Role Requirements:
- Must be a Chartered Italian lawyer with relevant in-house or law firm experience.
- A passion for renewables and experience in the energy sector is crucial.
- Strong land deal and energy project authorization expertise.
- Excellent drafting skills and fluency in English and Italian.
- Ability to balance competing priorities effectively.
- Prior experience in acquisitions and project finance is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Counsel is a broad and varied role with the opportunity to have a massive impact. We will grow rapidly and so will your responsibilities, so this is not an exhaustive list. There will always be room to learn.
- support the development of battery storage projects in Italy
- transaction support and legal due diligence - with a focus on real estate, planning and construction
- support the legal aspects related to the Italian entity, Field Italia s.r.l.Â
- drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of:
- land preliminary agreements for purchase or lease (DDS), easements and expropriationsÂ
- Planning authorizations, incl. Autorizzazione Unica ministeriale and Procedura Abilitativa Semplificata (PAS)
- Contractual services with partners, land scouts and engineering firms to support project development
- joint development agreements (co-sviluppo)
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts for the wider business e.g. NDAs, software licences, services agreements
- Support with company secretarial obligations, board minutes, and general corporate compliance matters.
- Work in close coordination with the UK legal team, to ensure consistency across the group wherever legally possible.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Chartered Italian lawyer (iscrizione all’ordine degli avvocati)
- In-house experience in the renewables sector - you’ve been involved in all sorts of legal disciplines that a company would normally require - or you’ve been working in the renewables practice of a market-leading law firm
- Experience and enthusiasm for closing land deals and contribute to smooth and successful authorisation processes for energy projects in Italy
- Passion for the renewables sector and being part of a purpose-driven businessÂ
- A good understanding of the legal and commercial issues around battery storage
- Excellent technical drafting skills, with a simple and straightforward style when advising internal stakeholders
- Experience in instructing and managing external counsel
- Ability to manage competing priorities, whilst maintaining the quality of advice and a good work-life balance
- Fluent and confident with both written and spoken English and Italian
- Experience in acquisitions and project finance is welcome
