  • Engage with and build relationships within the smol community online.
  • Provide timely and accurate customer support on social media.
  • Create a welcoming community atmosphere and monitor social engagements.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to stay informed and spot trends for strategy development.
  • Contribute to social media content creation and track community feedback.
  • Drive web traffic to smol's digital content from community interactions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in community management or similar roles.
  • Empathetic, detail-oriented, and a skilled problem-solver.
  • Proactive, independent, and able to manage time effectively across platforms.
  • Technical proficiency and quick learner of new software (Sprout Social a plus).
  • Reliable internet access, and fluency in French/German is a bonus.

In the past six years, smol has taken the household cleaning market by storm. We are already the fastest growing and most positively reviewed brand in the laundry, dishwash, fabric conditioner and surface spray categories and we’ve got so much more planned.

Having received Series B investment in 2021 and B Corp certification at the end of 2023, our team is focused on combining fast growth with being a force for positive change and impact in all that we do.

In Summary...


Reporting our Social Media Manager, you will be working within the marketing team to help build and support our amazing smol community on social media. We are looking for a self-driven, ambitious and tech-savvy professional with great writing skills and the ability to build conversations and relationships. You will be the voice across all social media comms, representing smol and giving an excellent overall customer experience.


What does the role involve?...

Be a champion of smol’s core values and communicating our mission to customers.

Build engaging conversations and relationships with customers on social media comms.

Respond to customers on social media comms in a timely manner.

Build a welcoming community environment on social media through comments and direct messages.

Work with colleagues across the business to maintain up-to-date knowledge for accurately helping customers

Work with the Social Media Manager to bring to light any key community trends for upcoming social media strategies. 

Occasionally get involved with social content creation.

Monitor, track and report on feedback and online reviews to help smol continually learn and improve.

Act as a community monitor for smol Facebook Pages, TikTok Lives & Instagram Lives.

Drive traffic to the smol website and blogs from community activities.


You will need/be...


Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proven work experience as a community manager or similar role

Desire to make customers happy and help them make the most of their smol experience

Excellent interpersonal skills, strong empathy for customers and ability to professionally deal with both positive and negative interactions alike

Attention to detail, critical-thinker and problem-solver

Pro-active and independent - able to work alone, see what needs to be done, follow the conversation and manage your own time across multiple platforms

Ability to identify and track relevant community KPIs

Enjoy working as part of a team

Strong technical know-how - comfortable using IT equipment and quick to pick up different software. We use Sprout Social - so familiarity with this is a bonus, though not essential

Reliable internet access

Fluency in French and/or German would be a plus but not required

Applicants must have current work authorisation in the UK.

The marketing team is 100% remote, but regularly meet up in London.
