Role Summary
- Responsible for the collection of waste from various customers using E-Cargo Bikes
- Ensure all collected waste is transported safely back to the yard for sorting and recycling
- Two shift options available with varying working hours and patterns
- Role involves night time shifts with start times from 4pm-7pm
Role Requirements
- Able to handle heavy lifting up to 25kg
- Capable of being on feet for long periods and cycling with heavy load for hours
- Prior experience in a similar role and cargo bike operation is a plus, but not mandatory

First Mile is a leading recycling company in London, collecting and recycling over 50 streams of waste from over 30,000 customers. We have a unique zero to landfill policy and continue to be the only BCORP Certified Waste Management company in London, which sets us apart from our competitors.
The role: As an E-Cyclist, you will be responsible for making collections from customers on your assigned round using our new fleet of E-Cargo Bikes and bringing the waste back to the yard for tipping, ready for distribution and recycling. This role involves working night shifts with two available shift patterns: Monday to Friday, working 9 hours with a 45-minute unpaid break, or a continuous pattern of 4 days on, 2 days off, working 10 hours plus a 45-minute unpaid break. Rounds typically start between 4pm and 7pm depending on the round you are assigned.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate should be comfortable with frequent heavy lifting of up to 25kg, spending extended periods on feet, and cycling with a heavy load for several hours. Experience in a similar role and operating cargo bikes is desirable but not essential.
