Role Summary
- Oversee the civil engineering aspects of the RICA Seed Centre's infrastructure
- Carry out civil design reviews, provide technical oversight, and supervise construction
- Ensure on-site quality, safety, and compliance
- Drive technical problem solving and project assurance
- Build team capability and support project delivery
Role Requirements
- Minimum 7 years' experience in civil engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Proficiency in structural design, modelling software, and CAD tools
- Strong familiarity with civil engineering principles and building codes
- Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda, French is a plus
- Professional registration with the Institution of Engineers Rwanda is preferred
- Only open to citizens or permanent residents of Rwanda

The role: We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer (Project Engineer) to oversee the civil engineering aspects of the RICA Seed Centre's physical infrastructure. This role involves leading civil design reviews, ensuring technical oversight, supervising construction execution, and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance on-site. You will also be responsible for driving technical problem solving and project assurance, as well as building team capability and supporting project delivery.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with over 7 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, focusing on design and construction oversight. Professional registration with the Institution of Engineers Rwanda is preferred. You should have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, building codes, and safety standards. Proficiency in structural design, modelling software, and CAD tools is essential, along with effective communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda; French is an added advantage.
