We’re looking for a contractor to work alongside our Ticketing Executive and manage a queue of non-urgent ticketing for Byway itineraries. You’ll leverage your knowledge of routes, timings and booking horizons to choose tickets - balancing customer enjoyment, cost and flexibility, and sales/promotions to secure the best possible tickets in good time. You’ll manage large ticketing budgets across a pipeline of hundreds of trips with varying departure dates and booking horizons.
Our ideal candidate will have experience booking complex European journeys overland (and perhaps by ferry), whether in a professional or personal capacity. We’re looking for someone who believes in our mission of making flight-free travel a mainstream choice and has experience of routing and ticketing in Europe, using Interrail reservations and/or full fares. This role would suit someone with superb attention to detail who can organise their own time, plan ahead and anticipate the needs of our customers and the wider team.
We're not just another travel company – at Byway, we're pioneering 100% flight-free holidays with Journey AI, the world’s first tech for journey-based trips. We’re a certified B Corp committed to making flight-free travel mainstream. Since our inception in March 2020, we've booked 7,000 travellers onto unforgettable holidays, with 97% of five-star reviews. We’re growing 3x YoY and are regularly featured in the press, including the Guardian, BBC, and New York Times.
Your role will involve managing ticketing logistics, including timely booking, amendments, and cancellations, with a keen eye for detail and efficiency. You will conduct thorough ticket checks to ensure quality and accuracy of our booked tickets and collaborate with our routing and ops teams to align ticketing options with our unique travel experiences and devise alternatives for disrupted journeys, ensuring seamless travel for our customers in a cost-effective manner.
We offer £27,000-£31,000 p.a., prorated, depending on experience. This is a remote-first, flexible working role with 80 hours whenever: flexi-working across two week periods. You will also have 20 days wherever: work when you like and where you like for most of the month. You will be required to join us in London two days each month including our monthly social. You will also have access to coworking spaces, agency rates with Eurostar for you and your family/friends, 33 holidays days a year, prorated (including bank holidays) and an optional extra two days if you travel flight free with Climate Perks.
Please apply here with your CV and a short covering letter. We're more interested in your covering letter than your CV. We’re eager to receive applications from all backgrounds, including from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds. If there’s anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know.
