The John Muir Trust is a progressive conservation organisation dedicated to conserving, protecting and repairing wild places for the benefit of everyone. We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Secretariat Assistant.
The Role: As a Secretariat Assistant, you will be part of a small, highly visible team working in a fast-paced environment as the interface between our volunteer Board of Trustees and our staff Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Secretariat, you will provide integral support to the Chief Executive, the rest of the Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees. This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in optimising the administration of the Trust to support the delivery of our strategy.
Job Requirements: The successful applicant will have experience managing upwards to support senior members of staff, great attention to detail and process, and a flair for problem-solving and prioritising. Experience in delivering and refining charity administration processes and procedures is ideal. You must be comfortable taking ownership of your work to make a real difference to the day-to-day running of the organisation.
Benefits: We offer a competitive salary starting at £26,676, a 5% employer contribution to a group auto-enrolment pension scheme, and 34 days of holiday per year including public holidays plus 2 ‘wild days’ or sustainable travel days.
