What are we looking for?

Essential:

Leadership experience: Demonstrable experience in leadership roles, ideally within the charity or education sector. Board experience: Previous experience serving on a Board of Trustees. Strategic vision: Ability to think strategically and drive organizational growth and impact. Effective communication and collaboration skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders many of whom are volunteers. Commitment to mission: Passion for our mission and values, with a dedication to making a positive impact in the community.

  Desirable:

Chair experience: Previous experience chairing a Board of Trustees or similar governing body. Sector knowledge: Familiarity with the charity and education sector, including relevant policies and best practices.

What difference will you make?

The chair of the board of trustees for "Being The Cure" plays a critical role in advancing the charity's mission. The board chair's leadership is instrumental in ensuring that the organisation remains focused on its core objective, which is to cultivate the next generation of societal heroes through evidence-based character education. This includes instilling values such as humility, honesty, and kindness in children and young people. The chair helps to steer the strategic direction of the charity, supports governance and compliance, and enhances fundraising efforts to secure the resources needed for these educational programs. Effective leadership from the chair is vital for the charity to achieve its goals of reducing juvenile delinquency, promoting good mental health, and fostering a community-oriented spirit among the youth.
