Role Summary

  • Lead fund administration, governance, and compliance across East Africa for One Acre Ventures.
  • Coordinate with external service providers and manage investor relationships and communications.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain systems for fund documentation and data.
  • Promote operational excellence and monitor portfolio performance.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
  • Over 2 years of relevant experience in fund administration, investment operations, or financial services.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.

One Acre Fund, founded in 2006, equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to enhance farm productivity across nine countries in Africa, home to two-thirds of the continent's farmers. We provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a range of other agricultural services. Our model typically boosts farmer income and assets by over 35%, enhancing their resilience permanently. Our diverse team of over 9,000 full-time staff is committed to transforming agricultural efficiency and profitability.

The Role: We are seeking a proactive professional to establish the operational framework for One Acre Ventures, our impact investment fund. This role involves leading fund administration, governance, and compliance across East Africa to scale investments for over 1 million farmers. This position is ideal for a process-driven, self-starting finance leader.

Job Requirements: - Lead day-to-day operations of the fund, including managing fund administrators and coordinating with external service providers like accountants and auditors. - Oversee investor onboarding, capital calls, distributions, and KYC/AML processes. - Coordinate investor reporting and communications, ensuring consistency and quality across all reports. - Manage governance and investment committee operations, including scheduling and documentation. - Drive operational excellence and monitor portfolio performance, supporting deal execution and ongoing monitoring. - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain organized, secure systems for fund documentation and data.

Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. - Over 2 years of relevant experience in fund administration, investment operations, or financial services. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. - Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
