The organisation - Mob was founded seven years ago by Ben Lebus. Over the last 7 years, Ben and the team have built Mob into the most followed food media brand in the UK, with an audience of 4 million across various channels. They have released 5 bestselling cookbooks and worked on partnerships with some of the most prominent consumer-facing brands in the industry. Last year saw them launch Mob Premium, a subscription-based members platform launched in April 2023, which scaled to ~41,000 paid subscribers and £140,000 MMR within 14 months. The team are now working on an app to create an even more compelling product for users.
The role - We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Recipe Writer and Food Stylist to join our dynamic content team. This non-camera-facing role is crucial in bringing our culinary content to life, combining your expertise in recipe development, writing, and food styling. You will be responsible for writing SEO-optimised recipes, overseeing the written quality of talent-contributed recipes, alongside developing some commercial and editorial recipes. You will also be responsible for styling visually stunning content that fulfils the mob styling brief.
Job requirements - A creative and detail-oriented professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in recipe writing and food styling, preferably within a digital media environment. Proficient in writing clear, engaging, and SEO-friendly recipes. Experienced in food styling for still photography, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your skills. Familiarity with food styling for video content for social. Excellent written communication skills, with a deep understanding of food and cooking techniques. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines. Collaborative and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
