Eden's Education Team is looking for an engaging and effective environmental educator to join our team of brilliant teachers. In response to Eden's Mission, Eden's vision is for children and young people who are equipped to create and flourish in a world where people and the rest of nature thrive.
The role: You will be responsible for the delivery of our mission-inspired and curriculum-related education programmes both on site in Cornwall and online. You will be an experienced practitioner of outstanding teaching and learning in, and out of, the classroom to primary and/or secondary-aged learners. You will join our enthusiastic and adaptable teaching team who are highly skilled at engaging with young people and their teachers about Eden and its mission, adapting their style and approach to suit their audience.
Job requirements: We are interested to hear from people with relevant subject knowledge in science, geography, environment or sustainability and you will have demonstrable experience of developing rich and engaging resources, projects or programmes to support learning for sustainability. This is a term-time only role, undertaken on a zero hours basis. However, we imagine the successful candidate would expect work up to 16 hours per term time week – a mixture of half days as well as full days. An honours degree in a relevant subject and at least two years teaching experience in a school or similar learning environment are required.
Benefits: The role offers the opportunity to be part of a unique educational setting that is deeply integrated with environmental and sustainability education. An enhanced DBS check will be required with the cost being met by Eden.
Additional features: The jobholder will also assist other teams across Eden, providing expertise in the areas of teaching and learning for sustainability, and working with younger audiences. Continual professional development is encouraged and supported within the Education Team.
