What will you be doing?

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR An exciting and interesting opportunity to support a local, independent charity based in Leicester. Relate Leicestershire provides counselling and therapeutic interventions to children, young people, families, couples and individuals across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, supporting over 20,000 services users every year. Relate Leicestershire is a BACP Accredited service and committed to continuous improvement.  As the Chair, you will be a member of the Board of Trustees, and lead the Board of Trustees in setting strategic direction and overseeing the Centre’s governance. The role involves facilitating board meetings and supporting the CEO to define and achieve the charity's goals. We are looking for a forward-thinking person with a positive ‘can do attitude’, someone who is proactive, committed to supporting a independent and local charity and creative.  We have a diverse board of trustees, and we are keen to recruit members of our local community in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.  EXPERIENCE  Financial experience. A willingness to provide support to Relate Leicestershire’s CEO and board of trustees.  Good verbal and written communication skills. Strategic vision and a creative thinker. Willingness to be part of a team. HOW YOU WILL SUPPORT  1. To lead and facilitate board meetings.  2. Oversee the recruitment and orientation of new board members.  3. Evaluate the performance of the board, its committees, and individual trustees.  4.  Regular availability for the CEO to provide advice and guidance.  5. To work effectively with other Board members 6. Being involved in the annual appraisal and pay review of the CEO and other Senior Staff. 7. To set and uphold the vision, purpose and values of the Centre.  8. To safeguard the reputation of the Centre. 

What are we looking for?

'Can do' attitude, dynamic and positive.  Financial experience. The ability to analyse and interpret financial information and examine the financial consequences. A willingness to provide financial advice and support to CFF’s CEO  and Senior Team.  Strategic vision and a creative thinker. Willingness to be part of a team.
