Could you support and advise our Trustee Board? - to sustain our regular business (managing resources, accounting, grant-making, reporting) and to help set the strategic direction for future growth. A major review of our operations is planned.

What will you be doing?

General management:

Assist and advise in the conduct and operations of the charity (including reviews). Support the Trustee Board and its meetings (approx. 6-10 per year - agendas & minutes). Ensure a proper set of records is held (and archived when appropriate).

Communications:

Dealing with incoming correspondence by email (webmail account) or by post (P.O. Box). Liaising with other Officers (Grants Officer and Allotments Manager).

Financial Management:

Manage bank accounts (transactions, balances & statements). Maintain accounts (payments & receipts, to SORP standard). Advise on levels of unrestricted/designated/endowment funds and transfers. Assist Trustees with monitoring returns on investments and other assets. Manage reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses.

Reporting:

Prepare Annual Return (to Charity Commission). Draft the Annual Report & Accounts (for independent examination & approval).

What are we looking for?

A well-organised, business-like approach to office administration/management. Experience of managing finances for an organisation. Computer literate - email, correspondence, spreadsheet records, reporting. Awareness of corporate governance issues. Interested in developing the organisation to meet future challenges.
