Rewilding Europe is a pioneering initiative aimed at restoring Europe's natural habitats and promoting biodiversity.   • Review and enhance Rewilding Europe's data source assessment.
  • Acquire and process relevant datasets for landscape analysis.
  • Develop and implement analysis and visualization workflows.
  • Create visual representations of rewilding metrics for reporting.
  • Advanced degree in remote sensing, geospatial science, environmental science, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in remote sensing, focused on ecological or environmental monitoring.
  • Proficiency in Google Earth Engine, Python, R, and other open-source platforms, as well as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Dashboards.

Rewilding Europe (RE) is an exciting organization that has developed an ecological impact monitoring framework to enhance monitoring efforts across its 10 rewilding landscapes. We are looking for a consultant to undertake a remote sensing analysis of landscape rewilding metrics.

The role involves reviewing RE's preliminary assessment of data sources, acquiring datasets, developing data processing, analysis, and visualization workflows. You will also be responsible for implementing the developed workflows to derive results for the selected metrics at the chosen sites and scales and create visualizations.

Job requirements include an advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in remote sensing, geospatial science, environmental science, or a related field, with relevant professional certification in remote sensing or GIS. You should have at least 5 years of experience in remote sensing, with a focus on ecological or environmental monitoring. Proficiency in Google Earth Engine, Python, R, or other open-source platforms is required, as well as proficiency and access to ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Dashboards.
