The Role Checkout.com is seeking a talented Legal Counsel with a strong privacy and data protection background to join our Legal team. The Legal Counsel will be expected to advise on privacy and data protection matters globally, as well as play a key role in maintaining Checkout’s privacy governance framework. You will work closely with all areas of the business in our offices around the globe. You will need to take a consultative and collaborative approach to solving complex legal and business issues in a fast-moving environment.

Job Requirements Qualified solicitor/lawyer (5+ years PQE) with strong post-qualification experience either in-house or in private practice. Significant experience in a dedicated privacy and data protection role. Excellent time management skills and experience managing a diverse workload and competing stakeholder demands. Ability to handle and deliver on numerous high-priority projects concurrently. Comfortable with ambiguity, constant change, and a fast-paced culture. A practical, solutions-oriented focus to solving legal challenges. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as needed, flexing the approach as the matter requires. Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate and explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely.
