What will you be doing?

YOUR CONTRIBUTION Our organisation is entirely volunteer-based and so your contribution as a trustee will be as much about "doing", as "being".  You will be able to contribute across a diverse set of activities, whether that be something you are already highly skilled in, or an area where you can learn new skills while still making a positive contribution. Examples of what we do as trustees include:

governance and accountability (e.g. preparing for and attending monthly meetings of the Board);  financial management (e.g. monthly financial report and annual financial statements);  event management (e.g. prepare for Annual General Meeting, Pain Awareness Month, etc.);  marketing and communications (e.g. website content, social media, surveys);  engagement with our member charities;  involvement in advisory boards (e.g. clinical); and advocacy with key stakeholders (e.g. government).

We will work with you to find one or more areas that you can take a lead, on behalf of the Board.

What are we looking for?

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: We are looking for a trustee with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

Social media;  Event management (e.g. annual survey instrument);  Bookkeeping, Office and Administration Management; and/or Research strategies aligned to Mission (qualitative / quantitative).

In addition, as a Trustee there are certain duties and responsibilities which you will be expected to discharge with due care and diligence.  Before applying for this role, all applicants should read and understand the following guidance note: "Charity trustee: what’s involved" (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/charity-trustee-whats-involved) PERSONAL QUALITIES: We are looking for a committed team player, interested in improving the lives of people living with pain.  Our perfect candidate will contribute a combination of time, experience and enthusiasm towards our shared success as a board of trustees. Many hands make light work! DIVERSITY: We are a friendly and inclusive Board that greatly values diversity, in all its forms.

What difference will you make?

You will be part of a diverse and inclusive Board of Trustees who work together to make a difference, helping to provide a voice for people living with pain.
