Role Summary:
- Assist with strategic planning and control for the Directorate of Navigation.

Role Requirements:

- Master's degree in business, engineering, space policy, science, or economics.
- Excellent communication skills in English.

Policy and Programme Officer in the Strategy and Institutional Relations Unit, Strategy, Programme and Coordination Office, Directorate of Navigation (D/NAV). You will assist the Strategy and Institutional Relations Manager, under their direct authority, by providing support on policy, programmatic and strategic matters relating to Navigation, as well as various coordination tasks for the Directorate of Navigation.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include: contributing to the elaboration and implementation of the Directorate of Navigation’s strategic planning and control; supporting the preparation of programme, policy and strategy papers relating to ESA’s Navigation activities in a European and worldwide/international context; including reflections on the evolution of ESA’s NAV programmes; contributing to the preparation of programme proposals and related documents for ESA Council meetings at ministerial level; conducting strategic studies assessing, for example, the economic, societal and geopolitical aspects of Navigation and the wider PNT sector; interacting with ESA corporate services in order to support D/NAV reporting, including on the overall strategy, vision and aims of the Agency; strategic monitoring of the relevant programmatic developments in Member States, industry, European partners and EU entities, as well as in other directorates, and contributing to the set-up, where appropriate, of new partnership and cooperation schemes in relation to the Directorate’s activities; performing ad hoc tasks, as required, in support of the Director of Navigation or the Head of the Strategy, Programme and Coordination Office, including the preparation of elements of briefings, reports or presentations on programme, policy or strategy matters.
In the execution of your duties, you will coordinate with all other departments and offices of the Directorate.
